Welcome to GreenFerry

Our small dedicated team of volunteers work to improve the green spaces in and around South Queensferry.

Our main focus for the past five years has been a £45K transformation of the old play park in the historic Vennel area of Hawthorn Bank from a derelict eyesore into a beautiful community garden with views over the Firth of Forth and its historic bridges. It was finally completed in August 2019,  with the unveiling of a 42ft stunning mosaic mural as the crowing piece. Follow the amazing story on the Garden Projects page.

GreenFerry aims:

  • to conserve and improve the environment for the benefit of the public
  • to educate, interest, and involve the local community in environmental issues
  • to provide a collection of experience which other environmental groups can call on for help and advice

If you would like to know more or get involved please get in touch.

Thanks for dropping by!
